When I was in my first semester of college, I was mugged coming out of a Walmart-- my jaw was knocked out of place, I had a concussion, and minor brain damage. I had to go on medical leave from school, and could no longer play lacrosse. I used my time on medical leave to take an apprenticeship in fine-woodworking and furniture design, and I decided to make wooden shafts for all of my teammates. By using superior quality woods and industrial equipment, we were able to create not only the lightest, strongest wooden shaft on the market, we were able to create a product that flexes like carbon, is only one ounce heavier, is far stronger, and is one-fifth the price.
